Lake Eildon has for the better part of one hundred years been an integral part of central Victoria's agricultural industry. It has seen the rise of towns and cities, from rich gold mining past to its present day water sports and recreation. Before a lake existed it was one of the most important river valley's in the country and had tens of thousands of years of Aboriginal history. The importance of this body of water cannot be understated.
Within this website the cultural history of Lake Eildon is explored covering everything from the ancestral lands of the Taungurung to the modern day water sports and power boats of the recreation generation.
